Age of Worms: The Return
The Sodden Hold is the last of several warhouses bearing the Sodden Hold trademark. Resting on the edge of the bay in Liberty, the Sodden Hold appears from the outside to be abandoned, but inside is a different story. Recently a band of adventurers investigating the Sodden Hold discovered that it was secretly a hideout for a band of dopplegangers that had infiltrated the city on many levels. In fact, so deep was their infiltration that Ivagmar had been captured and replaced by a doppleganger within the adventuring party. After battling their way through the Sodden Hold and rescuing their companion, the adventurers defeated their greater doppleganger leader and slew all the dopplegangers within the underground lair. Additionally, they discovere a large quantity of documents that detailed the extent and specifics of the doppleganger infiltration of the highest (and lowest) echelons of Liberty society. Included in this paperwork was a series of documents detailing a coup d’etat within the Thieves’ Guild, implicating that an usurper named Cyril may have actually been a doppleganger himself. More troubling was a note written in some alien hand that read, “I have a task for you, thrall. Meet me at the sewer junction beneath the cold forge. There are some small minds that must be taken care of.” This message was written by the mind flayer, Zyrxog, who was the motivating hand behind the dopplegangers and the mastermind behind the plot to kill the adventurers.
